Designer and engineer. I design products, then I build them and put them in front of real users. Twelve years across sport, entertainment and brand tech, from graphic design and art direction into product.
The cost of code has collapsed. Ideas that used to need a business case and a dev team now take an evening, so an interaction gets settled by building it rather than arguing about it in a meeting. Best time I have known to be a designer who builds.

Building used to be the expensive part. It is not any more. So I stop arguing about which version is best and build three, then find out. Most of them get binned. That is the point. The one that ships is better than the one I would have defended in a meeting.
